چکیده

Ali Saberi School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Washington State University Pullman, WA 99164-2752 U.S.A. The purpose of this paper is to examine the problem of controlling a linear time-invariant system subject to input saturation in order to have its output track (or reject) a family of reference (or disturbance) signals produced by some external generator. It is shown that a semi-global framework for this problem is a natural one. Within this framework, a set of solvability conditions are given and feedback laws which solve the problem are constructed. The theory developed in this paper incorporates earlier results established for linear systems without input saturation. IThis work is performed when the first author visited Eindhoven University of Technology supported by the Dutch Network on Systems and Control. 2The research of dr. A.A. Stoorvogel has been made possible by a fellowship of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences and Arts.

Composite Nonlinear Feedback Control for Output Regulation Problem of Linear Systems with Input Saturation

This paper addresses output regulation problem for general linear systems subject to input saturation by composite nonlinear feedback (CNF) control. The CNF control law is constructed based on a switch control law which solves the output regulation problem by introducing a nonlinear feedback part. The purpose of the nonlinear feedback part is to improve the transient performance of the output r...

Semi-global Exponential Stabilization of Linear Discrete-time Systems Subject to Input Saturation via Linear Feedbacks

In this paper, we show that a linear discrete-time system subject to input saturation is semi-globally exponentially stabilizable via linear state and/or output feedback laws as long as the system in the absence of input saturation is stabilizable and detectable, and has all its poles located inside or on the unit circle. Furthermore, the semi-globally stabilizing feedback laws are explicitly c...

Eigenvalue Assignment Of Discrete-Time Linear Systems With State And Input Time-Delays

Time-delays are important components of many dynamical systems that describe coupling or interconnection between dynamics, propagation or transport phenomena, and heredity and competition in population dynamics. The stabilization with time delay in observation or control represents difficult mathematical challenges in the control of distributed parameter systems. It is well-known that the stabi...

On Finite Gain Stabilizability of Linear Systems Subject to Input Saturation

This paper deals with (global) nite-gain input/output stabilization of linear systems with saturated controls. For neutrally stable systems, it is shown that the linear feedback law suggested by the passivity approach indeed provides stability, with respect to every L p -norm. Explicit bounds on closed-loop gains are obtained, and they are related to the norms for the respective systems without...
